More Flavor: Benefit Old Town School of Folk Music 50th Anniversary feat. Jeff Tweedy
-
- Jeff Tweedy
Many would agree that the Old Town School of Folk Music (or as some affectionately call it, "Old School") is one of the things that make this city great. It's taught countless Chicagoans to play musical instruments, presented innumerable concerts and dance performances, and added the word "Wiggleworms" to the area lexicon. Now's your chance to do the nonprofit academy a solid in return by supporting its fiftieth anniversary benefit concert. Happily for you, the venerable institution is marking its golden anniversary in style, bringing in no less than Byrds founder Roger McGuinn, banjo virtuoso Bela Fleck, Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy, bluesman Lonnie Brooks, and local stalwarts Nick Tremulis, Robbie Fulks and Jon Langford, among many other performers; there's also a varied dance program. Proceeds support scholarships and community outreach initiatives. Happy birthday, Old School.
