Performing Arts: Dance The 2008 DanceNOW Festival

Bringing together 65 artists from all five boroughs, the DanceNOW festival throbs with the pulse of NYC during its weeklong run. Emerging soloists share the stage with well-known artists such as Camille A. Brown and David Parker and the Bang Group in a genre-straddling showcase of new works and revivals. The festival honors ten-year veterans Battleworks Dance Company, Cherylyn Lavagnino Dance, John Heginbotham, and Monica Bill Barnes, who celebrate stellar runs with newly commisioned pieces. Whether you go for all six nights or just one, DanceNOW offers a sampling of the Big Apple's (literal) movers and shakers.
